Before the Thunderstorm, Davis Lake, Voight Valley, BC

It’s been another hot day in late summer and thick clouds darken the sky by dinner time. The sun lights up the scene one last time before the thunderstorm hits with a vengeance. On June 24th, 2012, one of these heavy summer storms toppled trees, tipped over RVs and outhouses, and uprooted old growth yellow pine. This time the lightning causes “only” a couple of wildfires, so we have to pack up and leave.
